Stavanger, 11 September 2018: Proactima AS has signed a contract with the oil company OKEA to assist with consultancy services for OKEA’s takeover of the operatorship of the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea. The agreement has a value of over 10 million NOK and will last through the end of 2018.
Proactima’s main task is to support OKEA until they take over the operatorship on 1 December this year.

“OKEA selected Proactima because the company has the necessary combination of expertise and experience. Proactima has a sound knowledge of OKEA i.e. through developing the management system”, says Dag Eggan, SVP HSE in OKEA.

Robust and effective solutions
Proactima will contribute in the following disciplines: management system, compliance management, risk management, barrier management, HSE management, external environment, securing, emergency preparedness, operations and HR. A total of 15 staff are working on this contract.

“This is an important and exciting contract for us, where we really get a chance to mobilise the core expertise of our company. The work is well underway, and our ambition is to deliver robust, effective solutions that enable OKEA to take over the operatorship in a safe way at the agreed time,” says Trond Winther, CEO of Proactima AS.

Interdisciplinary team
Proactima has a long-time partnership with A/S Norske Shell and therefore excellent knowledge of the company and the installations included in the OKEA portfolio. Additionally, Proactima has worked closely for a long time with OKEA on for instance developing a management system and on risk management.

“OKEA is an innovative company that challenges the established ways of doing things. We are proud to have gained OKEA’s confidence as a result of our professionalism and expertise, our experience with similar transitional projects and our ability to find good, customised solutions,” Winther continues. Our task from here on will be to ensure that the transition from Shell to OKEA is as smooth as possible. Proactima’s services will be carried out by staff from the company’s Trondheim office, with assistance from the Stavanger headquarters and the offices in Oslo and Bergen.

About OKEA
OKEA was established in 2015 with high ambitions in development and production on the Norwegian continental shelf. This June, OKEA AS acquired Norske Shell’s shares of 44.56 per cent as well as the operatorship of the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea. Included in this acquisition were also Shell’s shares of 12 per cent in the Gjøa field. This acquisition makes OKEA one of the largest operators on the Norwegian continental shelf with a total expected production of approximately 22,000 barrels of oil equivalents per day.
