“What is risk and how can we analyze it?”
A risk analysis maps out which incidents may occur and what these incidents may lead to. Risk analyses can be used to map all types of incidents, but in this course the main focus is on so-called adverse events. This could for example be gas leaks in a processing plant, fires or falling loads on an offshore installation, or if important surgical equipment stops working during an operation at a new hospital.

This novice risk analysis course presents all three parts of the risk analysis process for both simple and slightly more complicated and larger analyses.
There are many guidelines and standards for how a risk analysis can be carried out, and many are adapted to specific industries and subject areas. This course however, presents a general approach to the risk management process, without a strong sector-based approach.
The target group is decision-makers from land-based industries, the offshore industry, in public administration, project managers, line managers and project staff, as well as others who work with risk analysis and risk management.
